Members smallmouths fight Posted May 30, 2010 Members Posted May 30, 2010 How does the smallmouth fishing on norfork lake, compare to table rock lake, which i have fished for years BUTT the green moss is a big issue . I fish the last 2 weeks in april 1st 2weeks in may. By the way whats a keeper smallmouth bass 12 inches 15inches ty
BrianS Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 Its not as good as the Rock IMO. There are good smallies on the lake but action can be spotty. You know how the brownies are, here today and gone tomorrow. Fish from Panther Bay to the dam. Now they otta be on sloping gravelly/chunk rock points from 10-30 ft deep. I have been catching them on Bull Shoals on those types of places. Thats about all I can help you with. HOOK 'EM HORNS
eric1978 Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 By the way whats a keeper smallmouth bass 12 inches 15inches Do you mean what size can you keep or what size should you keep?
Members smallmouths fight Posted June 12, 2010 Author Members Posted June 12, 2010 I Dont keep any bass, just that i'm thinking if its a 12 inch length limit for smallmouth, might mean the population of 3 and 4 pound smallmouth might be less than other lakes example beaver norfork.
Larry Richards Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 15" size limit on Smallmouth in Arkansas. Please dont keep any smallmouth on Norfork. If you want some fish to eat there are lots of spots in Norfork and they have a 12" size limit
Ham Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 The question should be Table Rock vs Bull Shoals. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
flytyer57 Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 I vote for Crooked Creek or the Buffalo River. There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.
gotmuddy Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 I vote for Crooked Creek or the Buffalo River. Any creek with deep holes will have smallmouth around here. If you want to catch smallies stick to the bottom end of the lake everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
Donna G Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 I love smallmouth and I definitely don't eat them. We stick to the 12" spots for the frying pan. I've only fished Norfork once, but we will be there in two weeks. Bite's been spotty at the Rock for us, but we caught some decent smallmouth this weekend. They really seem to like my little jig / trailer combo. What's the SM candy at Norfork? Any bite now or they all trying to stay deep and cool? Donna G Donna Gilzow Bella Vista, Arkansas The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope. --John Buchan, 1915

Donna G I would fish bluff banks with a PB&J jig. everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
