ness Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 That was painful to watch, on a couple different levels. I hope he was able to make it outta there without hurting himself or somebody nearby. John
jjtroutbum Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 Walking backwards while wading. Never a good idea. I was waiting for just one rock to get a hold of the heel. Terry Beeson Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 Guys guys guys... Do you not see what was happening here? The Giant Man-Eating Taneycomo Killer Squid was stalking this guy and he was simply trying to get away from the monster... The guy showed extreme bravery in the face of such danger... I'm surprised he didn't get eaten, but with all that line tangled up, the squid was unable to act due to intense laughter... Seth Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 The first few times I fly fished Taneycomo with the water off, I was guilty of shuffeling. I wasn't much of a fly fisherman then and just wanted to catch a few fish on the fly rod. It got old quick though and I quit and started fishing normally. As long as the guy isn't messing up other peoples fishing, then I'd say let them have their fun and hope they get over it soon which I'm sure most guys do.
troutgnat Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 I guess one would say this is where a short 5' 1 weight would come in handy..........LOL........If you listen really closely you can here the guy to his right cursing him under his breath.......LOL Darren Sadler "Fishing is an Education...Often the fish 'school' me, yet I do not complain. Members gary2400 Posted June 14, 2010 Members Posted June 14, 2010 I put rear-view mirror on my hat when I do the reverse Shuffle troll. That's why I fish at night....night vision goggles, glow in the dark line, and infrared flies make it more of a challange to back up and shuffle. Also, if you dip your flies in radioactive material the fish will glow after you catch them so you can spot them again. Seriously though,,,that scene is exactly why I enjoy the night fishing better.
vanven Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 Shuffling should be illegal, but I love watching these guys. I rarely see them catch a fish and at some point he will fall, they always do.
jdmidwest Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 Missouri has a rule somewhere against chumming for trout in parks. Declare Taney a new trout park and it will be illegal... I can't believe Lilley started a thread on shuffling, wasn't there a train wreck on that a few years ago? I thought it stayed just above Lilley's where you see the bubbles when it regurgitates the 40# Brown Trout it eats! Real men go propless!
