Phil beat me to it. None.

You start going the route of banning feet disturbing the stream then you end up with no boats and no wading and it has no end.

It is an ethical decision and there is nothing wrong asking the guy directly if he needs to do it to catch fish...bringing awarness...not more signage, more regulation.

The purists need to go to remote blue ribbon streams way up North, not Taneycomo in Branson MO. LOL

You guys always assume the worst, can't you see the headphones he's wearing? He's just groovin' to some slow dance music, doing that Michael Jackson reverse walk thing. Next time you see him out there, give him a white glove..

According to the MDC, it is an un-ethical action.

Minimize your impact on the environment:

Don't litter! Bait containers, cigarette butts and fishing line harm wildlife and degrade the outdoor experience.

Use only designated trails and parking areas.

Don't shuffle your feet in the water to stimulate fish to feed.

I don't think that I have ever caught a trout that was hanging around my feet, I have let my scud drift through them and they part like the Red Sea. I have caught fish a few yards downstream of where someone was crossing. This is reason #7 I mainly fish at night (If all the fish are at the anglers feet then there are fewer fish roaming about to catch, 20 fish per angler X 100 anglers = 2000 fish ). At night I have seldom had any fish hanging around my feet. One time during the day I was standing still and almost stumbled and raised one foot off the bottom to regain my balance and once stable felt something wiggle under my foot, you guessed it stepped on a trout luckly he shot away when I raised my foot and slowly set it back down.

Funny thing about them parting when my scud drifted through, I broke part of my thumbnail one day and bite the rest of it off and spit it in the water and had at least 3 or 4 fish inhale it and spit it out before it reached the bottom, crazy things those fish think are food.

Shuffling should be illegal, but I love watching these guys. I rarely see them catch a fish and at some point he will fall, they always do.

I totally agree that it should be illegal. Unfortunately I've seen shufflers at times catch one fish after another. Especially the ones (shufflers) that do it in groups.

Watched that video three times and it got better each time. I swear that guy was doing the 'Michael Jackson Moon Walk' in waders. And what's with his line? Couldn't of had 10 feet of line out and he was jerking that rod from one side to the other and over his head. That is a classic video Phil. Good job shooting that one. Needed some good humor today to suppress the depression from one rain storm after another up here.

I agree...

Furthermore, some of you fellas don't have far to go until you're shufflers too...

Think about it, when you get real old you can't:

Cast very far

Walk very well

Tie and tie-on small flies

Travel to remote northern blue ribbon locations
