It was a little tougher this morning but the size was a little bigger than yesterday. Right off the bat had some whites blow up and caught crap out of them on the fin. Ran to the back of a creek and caught several blacks on the fin. Two of them were in the 3 pound range. First jig fish of the day knocked off my only watermelon seed twin tail. He flipped it off right at the boat so I swung him in and dove in the water before it sank but came up empty. Put on a cinamon purple and went to hunt some smallies. All the keepers I caught , which was 6 including the two blacks were in the 3 pound range. Had 10 or 12 shorts and shook off that many. 14 to 18 ft seemed to be the magic range. It started out looking good weather wise then that ole sun came out .

Glad to hear you had a great day!

What part of the lake were you in?

I was down between Holiday Island and blue springs today and most of my fish were up under the trees on a white twin tail grub. There were a lot of shorts out in the channell chasing shad but every time I threw a top water the first hook was in their mouth and third hook was in their tail.

Good stuff, Denny. Looks like you're gonna hafta break down and make that trek to Branson for some more twin tails. You might call first, though. About half the time I go to that store for something, they're fresh out and I end up making a run to Springfield the night before a derby. One time it was for line ... could not believe that a Bass Pro Shops store was out of 15-pound fluorocarbon (or 14-pound in the OWN XPS brand) but they did not have a single spool in the house of any brand. :noway:

Keep after those swimmers. Glad you're having a great vacation and I'll take you up on that Stockton offer. I'll be fishing Central Pro-Am up there July 31, the day that I turn half-a-century old.

Multi-dittos on the Branson store. Nearly always leaves me empty handed unless my kids want to buy bags of candy.
