I found this below town a week or two ago. I would be interested to know If anyone here might know who the game warden is for this area. What a shame.

I don't know the wardens name but, next time call the "Operation Game Thief" # immediately. 1-800-392-1111

If fishing was easy it would be called catching.

Man poaching drives me bonkers. Why would one want to target Crane? Out of all the streams in Missouri Crane would strike me as the least likely to produce enough big fish for a dinner table. What an idiot.

Besides the poaching and illegal bait fishing then they have to go and leave their trash. It kills me that people call themselves fisherman and then leave their trash behind. It really ticks me off when you walk up where some people have been fishing and every beer case and bait container is left behind.

Ok guys, I am asking just because I honestly don't know.....Why is fishing with worms a promblem? Leaving the trash behind, yea I have an issue with that, but as a kid all I fished with was worms. I have also seen people here on OAF mention using worms. Sorry for not knowing the anwser, but if I don't ask I will never know.

Thanks

Crane Creek is designated as a blue ribbon trout stream and has special regulations. Read line three on the picture. I grew up fishing with worms too, but I can assure that it was perfectly legal in the lakes and farm ponds that I fished. Whenever someone buys a Missouri fishing license, there is a little book available that explains the fishing regulations for our state. It is our responsibility to know the rules of the waters we intend to fish.

Thank you. However, I did not get a book when I bought my license, was I supposed to? or is there a special Trout license? As I have not been fishing for trout yet this year.

It's like the speed limit....not knowing the law doesn't exempt us from it, you'll still get a ticket. The signs are easy to read and are in plain sight and I've only been there once. It's amazing how even on taneycomo with the signs right there how people ignore them or don't care.

They don't always hand you the book, but they're usually sitting at the counter wherever you might buy your license. You need a trout stamp on top of your regular license, which I believe is an additional $7. You'll also need a daily tag to fish at any of the trout parks, but the regular trout stamp is good enough for the Blue, Red or White Ribbon trout waters.
