Put in at Moonshine about 11 pm tonight. Fished for a couple of hours- got a hot tip but it didn't pan out.

Bought a "day pass" but got a note saying I needed to buy an annual pass to park on Corp property after 9 pm next time.

Not sure I understand the reasoning . . . may be my ranger buddy Jeremy Rasnick will enlighten me tomorrow when I call him.

They got my $4 and I placed the tag in the window. I do understand why they call it a "day pass" but to make someone pay for an annual pass to use their ramps at night seems extreme, especially if you're from out of town and/or if you're only using the ramps a couple of times a year (me).

One thing I will say . . . the rangers are on the stick. That's a good thing.

I used to do real well around that whole area on white bass in the summer... but since they sectioned it off.. I do not even bother trying to fish that spot.

Man, some of the days (actually dusky times) I landed 50 or so on fly just casting from the shore.

Standing on rocks... occasionally hooking a nice largemouth or two.

Now I don't even try sneak in. They are pretty savvy at that front gate.

Spoke to the gate keeper at 86. She said the pass was good for a single calander day, or 12 AM till 12 AM. If you buy a pass at 11:59 PM on a calander day, as soon as the clock strikes midnight, you need a new one. You had 1 minute to fish. As far as having to buy a yearly that is incorrect. You do not have to do that, as long as you pay the daily fees during that calander day. Maybe easier to buy the yearly, if you know you are going to be out past midnight, into the next calander day. :crywithno:

Had a buddy that got a ticket at Stockton for the same thing. They gave him the option of buying a yearly pass in lieu of the fine.

Phil...you should have called me last night...

There were 4 of us fishing out of 2 boats from 7-1030pm...boated three over 4, many 3lbsers and several in the 2lb range. Mine all came off spooks, but a texas rig lizard and wiggle wart were producing decent too.

I will next time. Last minute deal. Heard there were whites to be caught on rattle traps off Combs Ferry Point after dark but nothing.

Talked to Rasnick - he said I was ok last night. The note was wrong. As long as you buy the $4 tag, you're fine at night.

We were fishing the Dam area, but you dont need to go that far to catch them...concentrate on main lake point with deeps access. have one guy throw a spook and the other a rattle trap or any other crankbait. And another guy throw a texas rig lizard in 8-25 ft water.

You should do great.

I went out last night for about 1 hr and caught one smallie over 4lb on a spook and my wife caught a few smallie on a wiggle wart.
