I'd suggest some inline spinners (Rooster tails), some spoons(Bouyant), and some ZigJigz.

PM me if you need help with sizes or colors.

6'6" med light spinning rod, 14 lb floracarbon (vanish) line, 1/4 once bullet sinkers, 1/4 beads and good swivels.

Carolina rigged and depending on what you are using for bait hooks or large Husky Jerks, Rogues. And those depend on the water rate.

You can spend the day catching sculpins and the night with 24 inch brown trout.

I've dialed down my spin fishing as simple as I can, and I catch more and better fish than ever:

6' light/medium fast action rod

4lb line, either all flourocarbon, or if monofilament nylon, just add on a 6' leader of 4lb flourocarbon to the end

I like a reel with 5:1 retrieve ratio, to help them "slow down" the presentation

Lures - 1/8oz gold Cleo spoons

I would ask the "Guy".

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

I agree with Taxidermist 100%. Big lures, big fish. Small lures, small fish. If you hook a nice one on your ultra-light with 4 pound test, it'll break you off and break your heart. Spoons, Rooster Tails, jigs, they'll all catch fish, and how, but your chances of hooking, let alone landing, a lunker are greatly diminished. That is if you want to catch big fish.
