Bobber, if you venture high enough into MO to do this class and I can get away for a day, I'll be in, too. My skills are somewhere between moderate competence and complete retardation, depending on the river. I understand intellectually all the strokes and some of hydrodynamics, I just can't seem to put them to successful use when it counts. I don't swamp or spin out of control all the time, but I could use some Jedi training.

this will be a level II. RIVER CANOEING CLASS.. and i'm looking at the weekend of september 24th. if that works out with the group?.. so who's paddling solo, and who's paddling tandem. and who needs me to bring a canoe for them? at this time i'm not sure about the river that will work for us . but i'm thinking about something spring fed .i'll do some rive homework to come up with a river site with camping/ or motel setting... i need a real head count so i can order study materials.sooner the better thanks.

I feel very comfortable on most Ozark streams, at most water levels; although, I am not as brave/confident as I used to be. Believing that I am an adequate paddler, I know that I still have room for improvement.

Bobber: I may have missed this but, just where are you planning on holding this???? I have thought about joining you just to see if I am as good as I think I am.

I'll need to know on which river you're planning to hold the class before I can even give you a maybe. Things are kinda day to day for me right now. I'd love to join you for some lessons, though. What will the costs be?

Absolutely fair! I probably won't be able to make it if it's on the Elk, James or Finley. (Please don't even consider changing it to the Gasconade on my behalf, because there's still a good chance I couldn't come then.) Let us know when you decide for sure.

September 24..I've never floated the Elk, James, or Finley, but I've done a bit on the G. Nade. Definetly interested, might even bring my wife........Let my check the calendar.

September 24 and any of those rivers should work for me! I will be solo and have my own boat. And yes, like Wrench said, I do have a tendancy to get distracted gawking at birds and bugs and such.

Chief, you are as good as you think you are, but you should try to make it anyway just for the entertainment value!

If it improves the chance that Eric will make it, I vote Gasconade. That would be more convenient for Gavin as well.......do I smell a carpool?
