gotmuddy Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 Les Stroud is a joke. He'd be dead in a matter of days if he was in a real survival situation. Ever notice he never finds anything but bugs and bark to eat? The guys on the new show Dual Survival know what they're doing...if I was stranded somewhere, I'd want to be with them. I used to like Bear Grylls, but his show has gone from "how to survive" to "let's see how much crazy crap I can do without dying." you may not like les stroud but his show was very real. He filmed his own stuff and the crew was only there in the case of a life and death emergency. Bear Grylls is and was always a joke. He stayed in 4 star hotels while "on location". Survivorman was never about long term survival, but instead focused on living long enough to get found(a week or less). While grubs and cat tails are not the best thing to eat, they offer a high success ratio compared to most any game that can be found. I have never watched dual survival so I cannot comment on that show. everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
jdmidwest Posted September 5, 2010 Author Posted September 5, 2010 So is Henry David Thoreau responsible for Chris McCandless' death? I am pretty sure Stupidity and Starvation was responsible for his death. Sean Penn glorified it with a movie. Now if Sean Penn could glorify himself with a movie about his life with Madonna we could all have a good retch and spew. I would like to see Sean Penn try to be like survivorman... everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
eric1978 Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 I like Sean Penn. He's a good actor and a major philanthropist and he's helped a lot of suffering people. If he was a neocon you'd like him, too.

eric1978 Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 I liked Sean Penn until he did that movie "Milk." Still a good performance, even if you're homophobic.

As soon as you reveal your love for Chuck Norris, I'll add that statement to my signature, too.

If he was a neocon you'd like him, too. Most of the characters he portrayed are of low intelligence so he does not really have to act there! And as far as helping people suffer, I think that is why he makes movies in the first place, many suffer till its over. When he babbles his nonsense trying to point out his views on a subject, his IQ really shows. Here is a site of Sean Penn Quotes for your enjoyment. My fav. Sean Penn at Brainy Quotes In between, I go broke because I seem to do movies where you're not paid a lot as an actor. Sean Penn But he did hit Madonna back in the day when she was hot, so +1 for that. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
