gotmuddy Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 drop me a line, I would like to do some fishing. everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
snagged in outlet 3 Posted September 9, 2010 Author Posted September 9, 2010 Well I'm all packed up and NOT going. I've been rained out of two trips this year already. I'll see how it looks later today and I might drive down tomorrow morning. I hope the lake levels don't jump so high they fire up round the clock generation. SIO3

Now they are predicting rain right through Saturday. There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.
Trout Commander Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Well, turns out I can get away for a few hours Saturday a.m. and I am planning on hitting Taney if they aren't gen'ning all day. Hope it lets up so we can get away. I have spent most of my money on fly fishing and beer. The rest I just wasted. The latest Trout Commander blog post: Niangua River Six Pack
snagged in outlet 3 Posted September 9, 2010 Author Posted September 9, 2010 It's not the fishing in the rain, which I don't mind, it's when we get so much it blows out the rivers and raises the lake levels. Then they generate around the clock and the streams and rivers in the ozarks get blown out. I had two smallmouth trips planned this summer and both got blown out. I haven't given up totally, yet. SIO3 Crooked Creek and the Buffalo are still wadeable, but the water will me muddy and rising quickly. Lake Norfork and Bull Shoals are still below the top of power pool, so I doubt they'll generate round the clock. But the way the rain is coming down now, who knows what it will be like tomorrow or Saturday. We've already gotten 2" of rain. Sure we need it, but not in time to ruin the weekend. There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.
stlfisher Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 looks like the back end of the main rain band is about to clear Bennett. Might be able to get some fishing in that way over the weekend.
snagged in outlet 3 Posted September 9, 2010 Author Posted September 9, 2010 Thanks Stlfisher. I was kind of hoping for some tail water action. But when my mother in law gets here I'll change that tune in second. SIO3
gotmuddy Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Norfork tailwater will not be affected by the rain, lake norfork is down quite a bit and it will still be clear. everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
