Sprint21fter Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 What a picture - KVD fishing from a skeeter with a 90hp pusher. Next thing you know he'll be in some deep V with a 75hp Evinrude. BTW, no slam on him, he would probably cash a check anyway. Does anyone have the specifications for the first year Ray Scott arranged all entries to fish from the same rig in the classic? What was the smallest/slowest rig to win a major event lately? When was the last time a large/fast rig made a real difference in the outcome? Not trying to start an argument here. Merely curious. A couple of seasons ago on the Elite tour, Mark Menendez won on Dardenelle fishing out of an alluminum boat with a 90hp on it so he could slide through a hole underneath a small bridge to fish some backwater areas. He made the longest run in the tournament as well to get to his spot.
tapout Posted February 24, 2011 Posted February 24, 2011 We will see who is jealous of my 90 when gas hits $4 a gallon this summer! Amen brother! I hope you can pull the skeeter with a prius too. I'd like to thank my FUTURE sponsers: Falcon Rods, Jewel Bait Co, and Seagar
roy_eros Posted February 24, 2011 Posted February 24, 2011 http://www.nighthawkpublications.com/images/2009/14/03.jpg That is a link to the boat Menendez won the tournament on dardanelle in. I was at the final day weigh in and the boat was trashed!! He beat the heck out of it getting back into his fishing hole. I believe the third day of that tournament was canceled due to high winds. The other days werent much better so I feel for his camera man making that 40 mile run up to Spadra. But it certainly got the job done for him, and hey with his winnings he could buy about 6 more boats just like that haha
rps Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 We will see who is jealous of my 90 when gas hits $4 a gallon this summer! Agreed. My rig is the V with the 75 ETEC. I fish several days on one fill up.
Champ188 Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 I think Capt. Don should take KVD snaggin' for spoonbills. That would be some quality entertainment.
OBBT Staff Posted February 25, 2011 Author Posted February 25, 2011 We are now over 100 entries but for this weekend we are extending the KVD custom rod promotion. All 2 day entries through Sunday Feb 27th will receive a rod. www.oakleybigbass.com Thanks for the great response to the Quantum Rod promotion! Mark
Flippin Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 We will see who is jealous of my 90 when gas hits $4 a gallon this summer! If it gets to $4.00/gallon the next topic of conversation might be "Wood or Aluminum- which paddles the best"
