I doubt gm foods will entirely eliminate world hunger, but drought resistant crops and livestock with a genetic edge for survival and health in difficult conditions will certainly help. Something tells me that we aren't going to be sending these salmon to Uganda though...

At $6.99 a pound for salmon, I think the Ethiopians are gonna starve.

The only way to end world hunger is to reduce the population of the planet and quit messing up the eco-system in which we live.

There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.

Law of unintended consequences?

it always happens - so I suppose it is a law. When you put selection pressures on a group of organisms, the few that survive will have offspring which will share the trait. - whether it is pesticide resistant bugs, or antibiotic resistant bacteria. The more we try to eradicate our 'pests', the stronger they become with each generation.

Oddhow that analogy works out for other "pests", like atheists, liberals and such.. lol

Odd how someone always has to bring up religion, politics and such...

And it's not even the atheists, liberals and such...

Good point 57.

Some people think GM food is doing just that. Reducing the population.
