snagged in outlet 3 Posted September 30, 2010 Author Posted September 30, 2010 Thanks everybody. I'm going to try on the Simms. I hope they fit. I've heard the same story that Eric told from other guys. Hodgman on the other hand, had many more sizes than the competition. SIO3
Bob A Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 Snagged, wife and I have both used Simms Freestones for a number of years and for the money, a great buy. Not only have then held up well (we do a lot of fishing), but should they spring a leak, you can count on their lifttime warranty. We have returned a few pair and have always received a new pair back in less than a 7 day turnaround. Great customer service that can't be beat. Bob A, Springfield
snagged in outlet 3 Posted October 30, 2010 Author Posted October 30, 2010 Okay. I tried on the Freestones yesterday and they don't fit at all. Legs too long, ride up in my nads and they weren't big enough for winter wear. My problem is, I wear size 11 shoes so I need the larger size to fit my feet. Yet the rest of the wader is too big. I'll try Erics way. I really want Simms but what if they don't fit? SIO3

snagged in outlet 3 Posted October 30, 2010 Author Posted October 30, 2010 Then there's that. I was laughing my butt off FT. I was also doing my best MC Hammer dance in the store yesterday thinking of Eric's comment. My daughter ran and hid so nobody would know she was with me. Snagged
drew03cmc Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 Consider yourself lucky that you are of "normal" proportions and the Freestones fit you. I had to buy the Headwaters for $300 because they were the cheapest model they made in medium short...I felt like MC Hammer in the regular length. Trying to find Cabela's or White River waders in odd sizes?...fuggettaboudit. I went through three "order and return" headaches because they don't stock anything to try on and none of them fit to the measurements they say. Go with the Simms and don't look back. Waders are important, spend the money. You and I have more in common than I thought. I, too, am short and a little portly. I am wearing a pair of cheapo Cabela's neos that I got for free...you know the saying, if it's free, it's for me. My current waders are about seven inches too long for me, so when I need new waders, I will probably pick up a pair of Simms or just go wet, 12 months a year. (joking) Andy
snagged in outlet 3 Posted October 30, 2010 Author Posted October 30, 2010 I had the st charles store order the medium/short in both the freestones and the headwaters. So we'll see if they fit before opening of CnR weekend at Bennett. I ordered the Guidelights from Hodgman, in the same size as the ones I had as a backup plan. Thew the old ones in the dumpster at Quarry Park last Sunday when I left. Can't touch this!!!! SIO3

Welcome to the club. Wait a minute, I just read further...if you have size 11 feet, ain't no way you're fitting in Med Shorts...I'm 5'8"...unless you just have some serious clown feet, they're gonna be way too small.
drew03cmc Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 Eric, I have 10.5 feet, 5'7" tall and 220 pounds. Med Shorts might fit me, but would probably have to go Lg shorts...sucks. Andy

Dang, you got some clown feets too brother. My med/shorts get tighter on me every time I put them on. I'm gettin' so fat I can hardly stand up anymore.
