Nothing. I'll just use some of yours.

I've been tying up some small midges. Mainly black and cream. Can't wait to get to test them out. . .

Don't forget the traditional dry patterns. Cracklebacks, renegades, etc are often effective in the dead of winter.

I'm tying #4 & #6 articulated blue, purple, white and orange bunny bugs and pine squirrel flies, very heavily weighted

Steve you keep tying that traditional stuff, and I'll keep catcing the big uns. :)

I'm with Tim on this one. Big flies. Pine squirrel, mink, both weighted and non-weighted, articulated flies, and articulated 1/8th oz jigs, rabbit strips and marabou in whites, olive blacks, flesh, and rainbow trout colors. I plan on throwing sinkin leaders to keep the flies down while stripping through the holes and rolling the heaver flies along the bottom Polish nymphing style. It's fun to play with the bigguns like that.

Way to go Tim. It's about time somebody decided to use some man flies. :D

Ditto on the large heavy streamers. Large trout love large flies, especially in the dead of winter. I have a lot of success on a little combo I call the " plate o" meat".

This is my first post. I have always just read in the past, and really appreciate all of the info I get from this site, especially about Taneycomo. C&R is the best time of year at RR!! I'm pretty simple when it comes to flies. Heavily weighted woolybuggers, egg patterns, griffiths gnats, and beatles are what I like to throw at the big ones.
