659' Normal Power Pool In 3 Years

I guessed it passed the new normal power pool will be 659' just wondering what other people thought about it?

I for one wish I knew they had a comment period. I read rumors about it on this fourm but I thought thats all it was.

I can see some good things more fish habitat, drinking water for Diamond City area.

But, myself and others on the Mo. side launch our boats off of the dead end roads that stop at the lake Bright Elbow,Yocum Creek, and Wolf Creek road to name a few. My truck gets better mpg's than my boat so launching at Forsyth or K dock and driving all the way to Shoal Creek or Buck Creek by water seems counter productive when we are trying to use less fuel.

Are they going to improve those areas I mentioned above or any others, does anybody know?

With the higher PP the dock owners and people who launch are going to collide. Its a problem now with the way they flood it every spring.

The dock owners are in the trees in high water and the only open areas are the roads and that will only get worse with the new normal PP.

I haven't even mentioned Forsyth's issues. I'm hoping they will improve some of those areas just bulldoze some trees and big rocks so there will be parking and room for everybody during high water. I have ranted now it's somebody else's turn or not.

I'll take the glass half full approach and say I'm looking forward to the higher power pool.

I don't think that a higher power pool level AUTOMATICALLY means higher water levels during high water periods. The Corp will still release lots of water and/or pull the flood gates when the water level requires it.

I also hope improvements will be made to infrastructure to help with access and parking at the new levels, but those changes might not happen without requests from the end users. And of course everything takes time and money.

I hope it does help the fishing in the lake and in the river below the lake. Both are excellent now, but mo better would be mo better.

It will wipe out the walleye bank fishing in the spring at Forsyth and all the other bank fishing below Powersite. The winter trout fishing will most likely disappear also.

As usual, take from some and give to others.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

Won't guys be able to fish on the River Run side and up the Swan in the spring?

I hope they will start holding more water. The way it is now there isn't enough water to get to the Pot Hole unless you take some with you. The rocks there are above water if you are going hunting for lost crank baits etc. The draw down sure kills the fishing. I have been trolling very slowly and still lucky to catch 2 eating size fish a day. Lots of days I come home empty. Using live bait now or there wouldn't be any bites at all. From K-dock to Beaver Creek there is a lot of wood sticking out of the water now. Sure don't want to be out after dark.
