Hotdawg Guide Service Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 I have been telling everybody that the Bull is BACK!! I feel that this year will see some state records broken and that the fishing will be the best I have ever seen and I have been guiding the lake for 36 years now. I caught more fish all summer long last year than I have at anytime on the Lake. The smallies and walleyes are doing extremely well and can only get better with the lower levels this year as it will be easier to get at them. GOD Bless and good catchin to all! Hotdawg! mrgungho Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 know waco and fred personally, those two have fished all over together and have done quite well. the were fishing jerk baits to catch there fish. and were fishing them around brush piles. said they had to pause the bait for up to seconds to get bit. waco is one of those guys who takes notes on every time he is on the water he could tell you what the water temp, color, air temp, pattern, and sandwaich he ate from 20 years ago.he has an extensive library of notes and if you ask him he is nice enough guy he will tell you what he was using and what color and all . they are both really nice guys Going down this Saturday..Buck creek launch.... hoping that jerbait bite is still on. Just curious if anyone has ideas on what depths around brush piles...and what jerkbaits in particular? I love my Rogues..but sometimes the fish will be hitting Mcsticks or whatever and won't give the Rogue a second look. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks all "Some go to church and think about fishing, others go fishing and think about God."
johnboy2bfishin Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 waco never said what depth of brush pile he was fishing. or location. if i was guessing i would say at least 15 to 20 ft deep. just a guess though.

taxidermist Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 As low as the lake is you should be seeing some brush piles fairly easy. Rocky points and and gravel banksmay yeild some big eyes.
taxidermist Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 I know some people will lol, but jerk baits along bluff lines in the main lake, in bubble gunm pink wrok pretty good for larger smallies.
