abkeenan Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 I was talking to a guy that works at Bass Pro in Council Bluffs IA and he told me that most of the BPS/Browning brand rods are made by Shimano and Quantum. Also, the BPS/Browning reels are made by Shimano, Quantum and he thought Daiwa also. The lower end stuff is the Quantum and upper end stuff is Shimano according to him. Can anyone verify that this is the case?
Members innova Posted January 27, 2011 Members Posted January 27, 2011 I have heard it was the lowest bidder, however their Johnny Morris bait caster internals look like a Pfueger Presidential model.
Dutch Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 The last time I talked to anyone about it I was told that Pflueger had the reel contract but I have never heard about their rods.
Stoneroller Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 their spinning reels are definately not made by Pflueger. they look like quantum designs with the pinned handle and spool sizes. that doesn't mean pflueger doesn't make the baitcasting stuff though. gotmuddy Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Regardless who made them, I have been very pleased with my Johnny Morris reels. everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
Members innova Posted January 28, 2011 Members Posted January 28, 2011 I agree the Johnny Morris Bait Casters are great, I own four of them.
jeb Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Pure Fishing owns several brands of reels, like Abu and Pflueger. I'm pretty sure they make the better of the BPS low profile baitcast reels. John B 08 Skeeter SL210, 225F Yamaha
