snagged in outlet 3 Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 You got that right Dano. I prefer the wind blowing downstream. SIO3
Wayne SW/MO Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 I've always fished them with a cast straight across stream and then let them swing. It seem that most of my hits come at the bottom of the swing, so get in a hurry to make the next cast. I agree with Dano that they seem to improve with some wind cover. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Justin Spencer Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 I fish them just like Al, usually in a two fly rig. They are a must use in the low clear water of summer and autumn, my favorite is a red butt. I catch fish on the swing also but don't specifically swing them. snagged in outlet 3 Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 I made up a version of a soft hackle that I have never seen before. I know it's a take off of an existing pattern, but do I get to name my version? It works very well in MO and AR. SIO3

I think it should have your name on it, like that local ledgend guy from the norfork. I can't think of his name right now. Somebody help me out. I have heard Dano mention the name before.
