Champ188 Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 Donna and I are planning to drive up Saturday morning. Does anyone know which ramps might be accessible? Also, I presume that Hwy. 86 from Cassville to its junction with Hwy. 13 near Kim City is clear by now but would like to know for sure if anyone has that info. Thanks much in advance for any help.
denjac Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 I would say your biggest obsticle will be from your garage door to the street ! Dennis Boothe Joplin Mo. TRRANGER Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 Champ Sorry but I kinda gonna borrow your thread, I was wondering about long creek or state park area launch conditions If they were useable yet?? Thanks TR
gitnby Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 They are all useable! Just spray a little PAM on the hull, raise the motor, unhook the bow snap, back trailer to the top of the ramp and hit the brakes hard! Park the trailer, slide down the ramp on your butt and then swim out to your boat!
gitnby Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 I'm still working on how to get the boat back on the trailer, but I'm pretty sure it involves a high-speed run at the ramp and the proper launch angle?

Champ Went to Shell Knob yesterday, drove across the bridge and the entire ramp and parking lot was covered with at least 6-7 inches of snow. Lake was completely froze over from the left point just above launch to other side of the lake, first cove on right going down past bridge is frozen from the back all the way out to the main lake. That is all I saw from the truck.

rps Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 Just visited the ramp at Holiday Island. No bueno as of now, but no ice on the lake. The marina cove had some ice, but it's thin and breaking up. Looks like the docks rode low, but none buckled under the weight.
Gone Fishing Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 I just drove down to Baxter and it is still a no go there also.
Gone Fishing Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 Has anyone saw what Mill Creek looks like.
