Members skipjack Posted February 12, 2011 Members Posted February 12, 2011 The Classic is coming up next week, anyone have any picks to win. I've heard a few guys are getting stuck out there on the sand and mud. Should be interesting to see how it unfolds.
getfished Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 Of course I'll have to be rooting for Lowen and Chapman (Tightlines), but I'm really excited to see how it unfolds. I hear Edwin, Skeet and some of the boys are running radar on their rigs. I hope that's not supposed to replace common sense (fog). We'll see. http://www.tacklespecialty.com/
Hogfan Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 If I was putting money on it I would have a hard time betting against KVD but I'm kind of pulling for Edwin Evers or Hackney.

I'm not too good at Bassmaster history. Has KVD ever won an Elite series event when he was fishing super shallow dirty water?

KVD has won previously on the Louisiana Delta, but not at this time of year. At first I didn't pick KVD on my fantasy teams, but changed my mind. Every time I think someone else is going to win and don't pick him, he seems to surprise me.

I think Skeet has a good chance. That's who I took in Fantasy.
Sprint21fter Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 They way all of the writers are talking about with the warmer weather coming in down there the classic might be shootout. If that happens that opens the classic up to all of those guys. The fish will become more aggressive. I will predict 18lbs a day will win. Gary Klein is due, but I am going with the biggest underdog Mr. Palitunik. I'm not sure his name is spelled right but he represents the Federation. It will be another classic to remember.
edyer Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 Another Michigan angler, Ryan Said, has caught a couple of fish over four pounds in practice, but having a hard time catching numbers. Hopefully, the weather will get better.
Members skipjack Posted February 20, 2011 Author Members Posted February 20, 2011 If you are one of the few out there that doesn't think VanDam is the best tournament fisherman ever this should end the debate if he pulls this off. The guy is just incredible. That said, if Chapman gets to fish for 2 hours I think he'll win this thing.
