Bird Watcher Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 I feel you Hotdawg. I was hesitant to post my recent video and had to scrutinize every frame in case something unacceptable might be there. Some Warriors are just looking for something to rip on. Post up the photos, it really is only fishing. Pete That is a dandy. What did that thing go? 9? 10? beautiful fish. Makes me want to go right now.
snagged in outlet 3 Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 I'm not sure what it weighed BirdW. I caught it on a 9 weight and released it pretty quick.. I caught one probably half again as big as that one, a week or so before that pic was taken. It's head was at my belt and the tail almost touched the ground. It was a real brute on a fly rod. Only after I let it go did it dawn on me that it might be a record fish on 10 pound tippet. That's hardest fighting fresh water fish there is. Pete
flytyer57 Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 And where is this fishing spot? There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.
flytyer57 Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 That's what I thought. There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.
Bird Watcher Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 That's hardest fighting fresh water fish there is. Agree 100%. I usually have to throw my bait away when I catch one over 5 pounds. They are hard on tackle.
flytyer57 Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 These fish are hard on tackle. And notice the way I'm holding it? I ain't gonna lip one of these guys. There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.
FlyFishinFool Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 "Keyboard Warriors" - like that. I have to disagree - we are all "keyboard warriors" at one time or another, because we feel passionate about something. For those folks who don't seem to be able to do anything but complain about everything that is not the way they personally do it (or wish they could do it!), I prefer to use the term "Trolls" or "Keyboard Trolls" ! Basically these types just hide (anonymous userids) under the bridge and throw stuff at the folks going past the bridge (the forum). Best thing you can do is do not encourage them - don't reply to them, don't let yourself be baited by their comments. Just ignore them and their posts - when they cannot get any response to their rants, they will give up and go away. And personally, I don't care where they go, just as long as they go somewhere else. Ignore the Trolls! Have fun guys! * ´¯`•.¸¸.•´¯`•.¸ ><((((((º> `•.¸¸.•´¯`•.¸¸.•´¯`•.¸ ><((((º> .¸¸.•´¯`•.¸ ><((((((º> I look in my fly box and think about what should guide my choice of the best fly: the amount/angle of sun on the water, the water temp & clarity, what bugs are hatching, what the fish might be eating, and what worked last time. Then I remember what an old man told me... " Ninety percent of what a trout eats is brown, fuzzy, about 1/2 inch long and underwater."
