Wayne SW/MO Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 Well it will get rid of some of the weeds and any trash that might be in the stream, and the fish and the holes that are too deep to wade. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
flyfishmaster Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 I'm going to miss out on another opening day at Bennett, but I was hoping to see all your guys on the Trout Cam so I just clicked on my saved link a few minutes ago and was shocked (http://www.mo.gov/Recreation/Outdoors/Fishing/) to my surprise it took me to a new MO Park web site. When did this change? Is there a new link to access the "trout cam" Later, FFM Woo Hoo Fish On!!
stlfisher Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 Interesting I looked at the trout cam a few days ago, but don't see it on the new site either. I think water levels will be fine for fishing. I fished it last year when it was muddy and up around 4 on the gauge. It might pack fisherman even close together, but I would think it would be fishable. Just fish deep and closer to the bank out of the main current.

The link is at the top right on the page. http://mostateparks.com/page/58502/trout-cam
stlfisher Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 They must have added that link sometime today...when I checked earlier I found the new page, but not the link. Water looks up and dirty, but fishable.
Trout Commander Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 lol we have all been looking at it as it was updated. I can vouch for FFM that the link was not there at the time he posted it here. I followed it and in the top right all that was there was the firewood advisory, saw your post (mic) and clicked refresh on the still open webpage from FFMs link and poof there it was I have spent most of my money on fly fishing and beer. The rest I just wasted. The latest Trout Commander blog post: Niangua River Six Pack

I wonder how that will affect things.
flyfishmaster Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 I really dislike those "Web Designers" (nothing against you Phil... you are dah man! ) As far fishing goes, Just stay on the bottom and use a lot... a lot of lead. In the riffle areas just use you normal flies, but maybe go one or two sizes larger. The best thing is that you can get away with 4x and 5x tippet. Do not for get to whip out your worms either... san juan style that is Later, FFM Woo Hoo Fish On!!
