bigredbirdfan Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 For those who use 2lb mono what brand are you using? I like bass pro excel but they don't make excel under 4lb.
Gavin Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 I spool my daughters trout rig up with 4lb Maxima, and add a 3-4' leader of 6x-7x Seaguar Grand Max Flourocarbon with a surgeons knot. The flouro is less visable, and stronger than any 2lb mono that you might find. Cheers.
flytyer57 Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 Berkley XL There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.
Whodat Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 We use boat dock cable. If you get hung up,just pull the tree out of the ground and get back your bait back and everyone elses.....................

Gotta be a real pain in the arse if you get a backlash. There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.
Bill B. Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 Trilene (Berkley) XL for mono. But I'm learning to like 6-pound test braid better and better as a substitute.
Murdoc Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 Vanish! Hard to beat!! Smiles are free http://rdpflyrods.com/
ollie Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 For trout I use a 4# and for bass either 8 or 10 pound test. Both in P-line CX. I think Wayne turned me onto this and I have liked it ever since. Smalliebigs Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 I'm with Gavin on this one....Maxima, it's great mono and they make 3lb all though it's hard to find. I truly love Maxima....great line.
