Seth Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 Looks like the temps are supposed to be 70+ from Wednesday on for next weekend. Do you think this will get the whites moving and biting on the James River near Cape Fair? A couple of us are going to be down for snagging, white bass, and crappie fishing Friday - Sunday. I've heard the crappie have been biting fairly decent from some other guys.
Dutch Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 I've done a few short looks in that area and come away empty handed for whites. I did see a bunch of paddlefish when I was there.
magicwormman Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 I don't think you will have any problem catching whites or crappies. The only problem is you have to catch 6 to 8 short crappies for every keeper. Water temps have been around 50-52 around flat creek on Saturday. They want the jig or swimming minnows SLOW.
