ozark trout fisher Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 Is that big bow on a stringer in that picture??? There is a thing called catch and release Seriously? I am all about catch and release in the Blue Ribbon areas and I wouldn't keep a fish there, but those fish in the park are stocked every day, and if he hadn't kept it someone else would have soon. I don't usually fish the parks anymore, but when I do I keep everything I catch within the law, and I'll make no apologies for it. When you start chewing people for keeping trout park fish, it begins to come off a little wrong. Great fish by the way.
Trout Commander Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 Is that big bow on a stringer in that picture??? Ha, yeah I hadn't noticed that, but you are right... I have spent most of my money on fly fishing and beer. The rest I just wasted. The latest Trout Commander blog post: Niangua River Six Pack

jah Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 I don't keep fish usually, but my mom has been begging me for some trout. I'll remember not to post pictures when I fish in Montauk in the coming weeks, because, gasp, I'm going to keep legal fish for her. Lighten up, Francis! (to steal a line from Stripes.) Great report, great fish, and I hope he/she tasted good.
Members IronmanDec Posted April 2, 2011 Author Members Posted April 2, 2011 Well thank you all for your support on the fish. I appreciate it. I'm glad most of you understand that if I didn't keep that fish the next person would of and it is coming out of the park for Christ sakes. If I was outside the park there would be a good chance I would release it. No browns were big enough to keep that we caught outside the park or any bows. SO THANKS AGAIN FOR THE SUPPORT FROM MOST PEOPLE AND NOT BEING A**holes LIKE SOME, when I was just clearly trying to show good pictures of a good time and memories with friends that will last a lifetime and tell people about a nice spring break trip to montauk.
Nortrad Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 You are fine and in the right, don't let it drag you down. The park fish are for taking. Great report and it's good to hear that midges were working in the Blue Ribbon stretch.
