So if that fish was caught during a tourney. Could you weigh it in? It has a tracking device and additional weight to the natural weight of the fish. Just a thought :-)

It is pretty cool though. Congrats to your son!

I was going to ask the same question. I would say probably not. Tournament powers that be would more than likely tell you it is a release ASAP situation. Just a guess.

I think I'd have an issue if a tournament director rejected that fish at the scales. Nowhere in any tournament regs that I've ever read does it say you can't weigh in a tagged fish or one with a radio transmitter attached. They could deduct an ounce or so and I wouldn't complain but to reject the fish entirely wouldn't be right. JMO.

I would say it would be allowed at a weigh in as thats the way you caught it. Saw a fish at grand lake weighed in with a spook stuck to his head, after a debate with the tournament commitee it was allowed to be weighed as thats how it was when it was caught. Dont know that I agreed with that but thats the way it went down. Believe it or not Ripley.

Yeah I don't really agree with the spooked fish. That's a bit different than having a transmitter inside of them where you can't remove it. Did they release that fish back into the lake with the spook attached?

Do you think they'd notice if a 3 pound battery was duct-taped to the side of it? ^_^

Nope they took it out before releasing it.

I hope you released him!

I have been secretly putting those transmitters on these fish in an attempt to get free Lake-wide Wi-Fi and cellular phone service for everyone! :yaeh-am-not-durnk:

Kinda gives a whole new meaning to "hot spot"?
