Sprint21fter Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 With the unbelievable amount of rainfall that is coming into the lake and it coming up so fast it will be a free for all on catching bass coming up in a few days. I can't wait, me and my dad are entered to fish as co-anglers and hopefully one of us will be paired with Kriet,Faircloth,Tucker or the other Elite pros that are wanting to lock up a classic berth. I know all of these pro's are great fishermen and fisherwomen but it would an unbelievable experience to get a chance to fish and watch from a few of the elites to see how they will tackle the Rock with the changing conditions. I know we will catch some fish the question is if we get a big bite to go with our stringer. Chomping tooth and nail to start hammering on those fish in the bushes. I'll probably be out on a deep point catching some post-spawners and pre-spawners. HA HA. Doesn't matter to me just can't wait to see how the week unfolds. Will bring some pictures of the tourney and talk about what I learned and what the pro's did. OH YEAH, ITS GOING TO BE FREAKIN AWSOME!

Well I have 3 friends that have been up there since Saturday just setting in there Motel rooms waiting for a chance to do some pre fishing. The only good thing so far is the money they are saving on gas running around the lake pre fishin.
Gone Fishing Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 I went down to Baxter to check the water situation and WOW is it climbing. There were a few trucks parked and you can tell one of them started this morning b/c he was parked on the upper side of the lower parking and the water closing in on his truck. It is a good thing you can now circle above to the upper parking lot and get out that way or he could be stuck.
Martin Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Just my opinion....I think it's going to be alot harder then many think to catch a big bag with the lake up in the tree's...Of course, these guys are good, so some will shine, but it could be very tough for the masses. lol

Bill Babler Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 You all need to remember, these guys and gals are not for the most part the Bass Master Elite guys. There are lots of Q School guys just viaing to get to the Elite Series. That being said there are some very good fisherman commng, as was mentioned. Faircloth can fish this lake, and has proved it. Of course the situations was a mite different. Maybe those Power Poles will come into play. It may be a moot point however, as they just closed Moonshine Beach and Mill Creek. From my understanding right now, only State Park is open. I think there will be a lot more twist and turns before this derby is over. As for not practicing, Not So. The folks staying at our lodge have fished every minute from dawn to dark in this rain. These folks are working tirelessly to learn this lake as it changes by the minute. Rain and Lighting have not slowed them down one instant. Everyone is going to be on a level playing field. With the sight fisherman that would have come in with the big bags out of play. It will be a bush, rig, jig, topwater deal. I would not be suprised to see some very nice stringers of Jaws come to the scales, and if the big blackies get in the bushes, it might be great. That is if they can get her done. Wait and see will be the best attitude to take Good Luck http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Champ188 Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Indeed, it could be tough. The key when the water is super high is to be able to get to the bank and because of the terrain around Table Rock, that's just not possible in a lot of places. Gonna be interesting.

edwin Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Based on history, I would expect the water to be higher this weekend than it is at the current moment. Besides, the rain still falling and rain to come, there's tons and tons of water yet to flow into Beaver and TR. "Advantages are taken, not handed out"
fozzype Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 bill do you think this water will come down to a managable level by the weekend if you don't get much more rain? i know 4 days is a long time with the darn all the way open The darn is only going to release about 30,000 for now. That is only about 1/3 more than full generation. It is not expected to peak (based on data at 5:00 on 4-25-11) until Friday at about 927.5. They may drastically increase flow in Taneycomo once the rain stops and the feeder creeks withdrawn on Taney. The Corps are trying to not flood Taney if at all possible. The debris in the lake is unreal, BE CAREFUL OUT THERE! B. Foz
