Brian Wise Posted June 14, 2011 Author Posted June 14, 2011 I would kill to have more people that would be game for "Hero or Zero" trips with big streamers--because when it happens it gives you chills. ness Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Dayum! ness, ness 2.0 and ness 2.1 will be down again this year! We want big browns. John
ColdWaterFshr Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Nice feesh pictures. All except for that one where the Taliban dude is holding the fish. Now we know the real truth . . . these fish were caught on a mountain stream in Afghanistan and not the North Fork.
Brian Wise Posted June 14, 2011 Author Posted June 14, 2011 Brian great report. We were out Thursday through Saturday and really struggled single digit fish counts in my boat all three days. Could get some chases on streamers but not many takes and the nymphing was poor at best. We did get out Saturday evening and floated Blair to Patrick after the rains. Spring creek was turning the river milky white where it comes in it was really weird the left side of the river was white and the right side was perfectly clear. Strangely enough the only nice fish hooked that weekend came on that float in the milky white water on a yellow circus peanut I figured it was the only thing bright enough for them to see in that water. It was probably an 18" brown that left me after putting on a neat aerial show. I kind of wish we would have stuck it out a fished Sunday now oh well. Yeah Sean, I saw your truck at Kelly Saturday. Nymphing was off which is crazy to say and rarely do you hear me say that. We actually did get some solid rolls on a darker Circus Peanut too....but they LOVED the White SD and Yellow SD which is AWESOME because you can see the fly the whole time it is in the water and see the fish SMASH it. Those girls looking forward to the trip? My Youtube Channel

I am glad to hear this. I've got a trip coming together the 26th so I ran out to check my inventory of SDs and CPs. A ton of black and olive in bot and ONE yellow SD wouldn't ya know. Oh well I can't ever get my retrieve speed/cadence to the liking of the fish so I doubt color will be my biggest problem. I have spent most of my money on fly fishing and beer. The rest I just wasted. The latest Trout Commander blog post: Niangua River Six Pack

Justin Spencer Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Brian, Why couldn't we hook any of those hybrids when we were fishing Bryant for whites, we should both look for a new guide!
