troutfiend1985 Posted June 22, 2011 Author Posted June 22, 2011 I think Gilley was trying to say that sometimes you end up doing things that end up being on the border, you can't help it, just happens. I do however agree with him that in 10 years your attitude might be different. Everyone starts out like you, with great ideals. Just get crapped on a few times and you will become more jaded and skeptical. BTW, few lawyers are Atticus Finch. No, I know that no matter what there are times that we get into spots where we wish we weren't. Atticus Finch is a fiction, but that doesn't mean that there aren't attorneys out there that are doing good things. Unfortunatley the news likes to report bad things, murders, rape, beatings, robberys, etc... But that doesn't mean all people are bad. It's just the same with lawyers, there are good ones out there, but they don't get front page news, rather we reserve that spot for the scum bags of the earth, the ambulance chasers and what not. Like all stereotypes, 1 percent of it is truth, but it would be a faux to call it a whole. I've been crapped on a bunch already, but I'm not ready to give up. When I see my clients as a mere pay check and not a person then I know that I am jaded, and it does happen, but that's is when you find a new job. And no, I'm not a Harvard student and I don't want to change the world, just want to make my little spot better. Anyways, bottom line is that I want to do business with a store that isn't cutting at the bit to screw over a long term customer. “The greatest menace to freedom is an inert people” J. Brandeis

Too many people listen to all the bad reports they hear about lawyers and get some misinformed conception in their minds that ALL lawyers are bad and they hate them. Until they need one. There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.

Mitch f Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 Too many people listen to all the bad reports they hear about lawyers and get some misinformed conception in their minds that ALL lawyers are bad and they hate them. Until they need one. I agree to a point. But regardless of what any law professor says the second a lawyer receives compensation for his services he has an obligation to the client. This means it's not always about right and wrong anymore it's about who is the better lawyer. I wonder if you remember the look on OJ's lawyers face when they read the not guilty verdict, total disbelief. He knew OJ was a lying Son of a bitch and still represented him. All about the almighty dollar, nothing else. What about the 911 victims who were offered 1 million on average per family and still they lawyered up, trying to get more. Makes me puke. What about the lawyers for Phillip Morris? Do you think they have an agenda????? money, money, money "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted June 22, 2011 Root Admin Posted June 22, 2011 Back to feathers... was talking to Lisa yesterday and told her we should learn how to install these feathers onto heads and cut the middle man out! Dallas - you could be our first customer! Ness?

flytyer57 Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 ...it's not always about right and wrong anymore it's about who is the better lawyer. Wonder why it's always lawyers who are mostly responsible for writing the laws in this country? It's not always about right and wrong because juries have their own biased opinions before going into a court room. Will an innocent black man be found not guilty in a court where the jury is loaded with klansmen? Money does buy a defense. It shouldn't, but the first person to claim the justice system in this country is truly fair, is a LIAR. And don't bring up O.J. You weren't there. You don't know if he was guilty or not. You only have yor own BIASED opinion on that matter. Half this country thinks he was innocent and the other half think he was guilty. Neither of us were there when the crime was committed. We don't know and should not form opinions to guilt or innocence. We can only accept the outcome of the trial he was given. Whether we like it or not. There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.
Mitch f Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 Wonder why it's always lawyers who are mostly responsible for writing the laws in this country? I'ts also the same lawyers who are paid to undermine them based on a big paycheck. Why don't you get your butt up here and go on the float, i said i would pay for your gas! ps. people have been put on death row for 1/10th the evidence that OJ had agaisnt him "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor

Dallas - you could be our first customer! Ness? I'd have to pass, but I'd wager if you caught Dallas in the right 'frame of mind', he'd be all for it. I've never seen one real close up though. Is there any fancy stuff where it's tied in, or is it just whip-finished? You could crank it up a notch by using a vice and tying up something fancy. Maybe some beads, rubber legs, flashabou. John

I'm out also on any fancy decorations in my hair... A. Not too much left on top. B. Little feathers, beads or whatever would look silly hanging in my grey hair. Although MisterT got away with it. www.drydock516.com
