gitnby Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Here's 2 of the better ones I caught this weekend. One was on a baby brush hog on a rig, and the other on a FB jig. Both were just outside the bushes in about 10-12 FOW.

Members TArcher Posted June 29, 2011 Members Posted June 29, 2011 Ditto on the one of my favorite places. If ya don't mind me asking where is this favorite place you speak of? I'm not familiar with Tablerock lake at all and hope to catch some bass this weekend while I'm down there. If ya don't want to tell me your honey holes I understand. Thanks "There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home."

Thanks The smallmouth have been unbelivable for the past 3 or 4 weeks. Find any pea gravel flats and points that roll off into deeper water. I've caught em from Mill Creek on up to the dam. Be on the water before dawn and sit in about 20-25 and cast in to the edge of the bushes and work the bait out to the boat. I've caught em on baby brush hogs, tubes, Fish Dr's, chompers and shaky heads. Stick with green pumpkin, watermelon candy or green pumpkin/red. I like to dip the tails in chartreuse dye. 6 or 8 lb line on a good spinning rig with smooth drag is a must. Also, work a FB jig with a chompers twin tail or Eakin's jig with a speed craw in same places, or even out a bit deeper if it's sunny. Not sure how long this bite is going to last, though, with the water dropping and the temps rising? Should be about time for some good Kentucks on the drop shot and spoon, but been havin too much fun with the brown fish to try it.
