Why not? Other States with less conservation funding manage to live with some very complicated stream specific fishing regulations...Think folks in Missouri are smart enough to figure things out.

Not everyone is of superior intelligence like you Gavin. Cheers!

I tell you what, you boys find the reseach that supports the theory that smallmouth are being harvested beyond the means that the stream supports and we will take this a step further. Until then there is no reason to change the regs that support the trophy hunters and the meat hunters and those like me that just like to fish.

If you guys start this crap around the campfire in September I might kill all of you.

Can't you just agree to disagree and shut the hell up. You are never gonna change each other's mind.

I agree with ya Ronnie! the problem is that some see Missouri as being an east side-west side thing like the crypts and the bloods. Chief doesnt want the "few controlling the many". Well, the sword cuts both ways; so it comes down to which streams are more important? I guess it depends where you live. I don't think anyone can try to say what regulation will work for a particular stream, that's crazy. All it takes is 3 hungry, out of work rednecks with jet boats and a pack of M-80's (it does happen), and hundreds of bass are gone forever. Then the surveys will not not draw any conclusive results, big surprise. The MSA at least trys to enact regs that will benefit the overall streams in Missouri. Lets go Chief, support us like most of us supported you in the Prater fiasco. Don't get hung up in the minutia of one or two streams, it sounds like the gridlok in our current debt ceiling situation.

It takes a lot more than putting up signs and trying to enforce their ideals. There is a lot of work that needs to be done.

I don't think you people understand what you read. I have always agreed to a slot limit. I have always agreed that in all unimpounded waters east of the James should be 18" length limit. All I have said it that in the unimpouned waters south of I-44 and west of the James should have a 15" limit. And to one fish on the high side. Why are you guys so hung up on a 5 county section in the very sw corner of the state that you will most likely never fish??? I sure do hope you will come and fish sometime though. I think you'll have a blast!

lol, I think if Gavin can figure it out then anyone can!!

(sorry, Gavin.. Too good an opportunity for a wisecrack)

I liken this (portion of the debate) to someone arguing that all the roads in Missouri need to have the same speed limit...

When you do decide to head that way just leave the jet boat at home, stop in Lebanon and ride down with me.. We'll take my John boat.. I'm sure you'll be comfortable in (or falling out of) the front of it!! ;)
