I have caught carp a couple times on a tube but not this big and on a topwater. I saw him in the shallows about 20 yards away and never thought that he would bite but on the second cast he hit. It was a good battle not like a bass, no jumping but a lot of line pulled off my reel. He was really black and had a pretty orange belly, I dont remember seeing any this black before, but I set him free for someone else to catch.

I had one just about that size on crooked come up and break water hitting my Rapala jerk. Pulled me up and down the hole in the canoe. Finally got to the bank and it was like watching Marlin fishing. Fight and drag, fight and drag. Finaly the line gave in.

That's freakin crazy that it hit Topwater. I've been investing time trying to get one to eat a fly thinking that they would be more likely to eat something small and vague. Great fish. I'm so jealous.

Ive seen people tie a mulbery patern and fish them under mulberys. Carp can't keep from slurping it up.

My buddy caught one 20 lbs + on a bluegill popper downstream from Kelly some years ago. It was slurping mulberries. He was using an old whimpy 5 wt. It took so long to land it we didn't get any more bass fishing in that evening and didn't get to Yellville till after dark.
