Don't suppose you'd be interested in buying a new truck or car, would you? That's what I do for a living.

Welcome to the forum, we look forward to your contributions to the fishing discussion forum.

I called Josh at Here & There Mobile Marine Repair Tuesday 2/7 and explained the oil injection problem I was having. He came out today 2/9 and fixed the problem in no time and also did a compression test.It was so nice to have someone explain what they was doing as the did it.Also was nice to have the service come to me instead of having to unload everything out of the boat ,take to a repair shop drop it off and wait a week or two to pick it back up.I would highly recommend his service,he has reasonable prices and 20+ years of experience. He is very professional

Good luck Josh. Do you pull flywheels and do gearcase reseal/relubes over the water, or off the tailgate of your truck ? There's only so much quality service you can do on a service call.... right? Removing lower cowlings to do most work on todays outboards is kinda difficult to do over the water unless you can levitate.

Just keepin' it real. :) What's your labor rate and service call charges at this year?

Lots of folks aren't comfortable changing out lower unit oil, plugs, impellers, winterizing their boats, etc. His type service would be awesome for those jobs.

I have no reason to believe that he's going to take on a job too big for him at someone's home. Kind of nice not to have to unload the boat and leave it somewhere else until someone in the shop has time to look at it.

Either way, he's in the Mtn Home Area not LOZ so I doubt he "stealing" any business from you.

I was just curious as to what extent of troubleshooting/repairs he was willing or able to complete on-site.

I usually know by the discription of the problem whether it's something that can likely be fixed while hanging off the back of the boat, or whether it's more likely to have to be towed to the shop. No need charging someone an 80.00 service call if you're reasonably sure that it's gonna need more extensive looking into.

You can't even locate and repair a fuel leak or do a control cable swap on later model outboards without removing the lower cowling..... and ya can't do it while hanging over the water off the back of the boat.

No worrys about "stealing work", was more thinking about farming out some service calls to the dude depending on what he feels comfortable doing while the boat is on a hoist, floating, or sitting in an access parking lot. That is if he wanted to make the trip up here ever so often.

Ease up, Ham.

Oh by the way the total bill came to $60.....That was to trouble shoot and repair the oil/fuel injection system and do a compression test of all 6 cylinders that tested between 115 to 120 and that made me very happy to know that my old 93 Merc 200efi was still alive and kicking....

Outstanding! I hope you dropped an extra benjamin on him, cuz he deserves it. It's good to know that the o/i drive gear is still hanging in there.

Here's one (1996 150 EFI) that didn't
