Members FJ80 Posted August 19, 2011 Members Posted August 19, 2011 I'm letting go of a great solo boat. Excellent condition. Garage and Basement kept its entire life. I still have the original bill of sale sheet on this boat. See below for a recent post/discussion on what a solo canoe can be valued at. I am asking $400. A similar model today runs $599+ www.oldtowncanoe.com/canoes/gernalFamily/discovery_119.html Boat is located in Springfield. I have a great picture of the boat, but cannot figure out how to include it here. I will send it to interested parties. Thanks for looking!! Sorry for earlier confusion. This is NOT a Pack. It is however an exceptional value. FJ80 From Previous Post about Kayaks and Canoes... (My Vagabond weighs 43 pounds and retails for around $1100 these days...and you can get brand new serviceable solo canoes for $500-800.) eric1978 Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 I'm confused. Is it a Pack or a Disco 119? Those are two different canoes with two very different price tags.

Trout Commander Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Is there a difference between this boat and the Guide 119 besides the price? EDIT: Looks to be same dimensions, just the color and orice are exclusive to Dick's. I have spent most of my money on fly fishing and beer. The rest I just wasted. Guest Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 The only difference between the Dico 119 and the pack is the material and seat. The pack is made of royalex while the disco 119 is 3 layers of polyethylene. I have the disco 119, and it is a great entry level solo. It has taken everything I can throw at it.

Ozarks streams are not friendly to Royalex. The discovery being made of the poly is a better fit for around here. You gain a little weight, but with a boat this size, it is still a snap to throw it over your head or on your neck and go. The Old Town website has plenty of specs you can compare boats on. The seat on this boat is the wood with the mesh, perfect for throwing a sitbacker or stadium chair on for added comfort and support. Good luck!!

He edited the post...originally the title of the thread was Disco 119 and the link was to the Pack...so there! Just so you know FJ80, the reason you haven't sold your canoe already is because you can get a new Disco (Guide, whatever) 119 brand new for what you're asking. That's what I paid for mine. It's a great day tripper, but why would someone pay the same price for a used one when they could get it brand spankin'? Just FYI, not trying to be a dick.

grizwilson Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 They do have them at Dick's for 399 but 240 shipping. Wish I would have found yours before I paid for a pack angler plus tax...about 1/2 price for about 15 lbs. “If a cluttered desk is a sign, of a cluttered mind, of what then, is an empty desk a sign?”- Albert Einstein

I didn't realize Dicks had them for 399 - it would be worth the extra bucks to drive and pick one up at that price.
