straw hat
My daughter works there and I asked her about the tax rate. She said it will be 7.6%. If I made it to Joplin, Academy was a definite stop, glad we have one opening in Springfield. Thank your daughter for the info! I am glad to hear it will be 7.6%. 5bites
The boat dealership part of hydro tec is out of business. Actually they sold it then it went out. The repair and performance shop is still open. This was my first time dealing with them. I was impressed. They're very helpful and willing to answer questions. They had my boat done quick too. Thanks for the info. I bought my Triton from them back in 2006. Always used them for the maintenance. Tried the place that they sold their Triton and Suzuki dealership to but I just never bonded with them. Are they doing the regular things like oil changes etc or just the performance stuff? Members evnrude18
I know that they preformed a lower unit pressure check for me as well as a check my timing a month or two back... so I would guess they still do it all. Even though I have had them work on my Mercury, they are one of the select few Yamaha authorized warranty repair facilities in the nation. I guess that accounts for something. I would call and see what they will and won't do, but my guess is that they do it all.

Jackie They'll do whatever you need as far as I know. They replaced my fuel pump diaphragms, plugs, and bled my hydraulic steering. Here before to long I hope they will be installing a jackplate. minnowhooker
It pays to compare, I changed my lower unit oil last week and I use Quicksilver 90W only place I could find it was Bass Pro. Went to SA to check it out and the same oil was $4.00 cheaper a quart.
Members Ranger Dave
Although I am looking forward to the new store I wanted to mention something to you The tax rate at Academy (just like the Sam's next door) will be 8.7% while it will be only 7.6% at BassPro. On a big purchase that can make a big difference. Just something to think about. When was the last time you purchased something at Bass Pro? The tax rate for Bass Pro has been either 8.2 or 8.6 percent for over 6 or 7 years now. Check your receipt. The tax rate at the Bass Pro in Branson is 9.3%. I think it is taxation without representation to allow the government to impose a sales tax without voting on it. At the very minimum, there should be a sign at the checkout area stating there is an additional sales tax and what the additional sales tax is for. The Bass Pro sales tax in Springfield is for the Wonders of Wildlife. We voted to raise the Hotel/Motel tax in Springfield for WOW but we didn't vote to raise the sales tax at Bass Pro for WOW. The last thing I picked up at BP was a reel about 2 years ago. I usually find what I need at another store for a more reasonable price. I normally only buy items at BP if I can't find it anywhere else. I never noticed the rate had changed (shame on me, I usually watch things like that). I fully agree with your comment about the sign. I never new about the tax increase you mentioned. I remember when the tax rate use to be 7.6% there and I never heard it had been raised. I really appreciate the information. Another reason I usually shop other places is that I have found their employees to usually be sort of rude and cocky, even unwilling to help. Thanks again for the info, sorry I made a mistake earlier. (not my first one either! lol)
