snagged in outlet 3
Went down Saturday and Sunday and boy was it disappointing. Extremely small fish, thousands of them. You could catch them on anything. They aren't old enough to be wary. We caught em from 4 inches to 11 inches. It was packed. I want to rename Pete's Blue Pipe Hole. "Sit in my lawn chair, snag fish and yell at my kids hole" I know it's long and it doesn't flow well but that's what it's turned into. At the end of the day we found soft plastic worms on the bank there. Boy did they ruin a good spot. At one time there were 19 people crowded around it. A big fight at a wedding at the shelter by the guage house. Now that was pleasant. Speeding cars and trucks leaving the shelter after fight and almost killing people around the spring hole. That was pleasant. Some big mouth lady yelling at her kids at the "Sit in my lawn chair, snag fish and yell at my kids hole" Very pleasant. A real nice hatch of PMD's on Saturday. Weather was perfect. Company was good. Arkansas Friday to Sunday this week. Thursday to Sunday if my evil plan works out at work. Pete

Wayne SW/MO
You should e mail the MO DNR and ask if there is a new use planned for Bennett. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

It's Clarence Holland derby, they might turn out some 12 inchers.
Members Bruegy
I was there over the weekend as well. I didnt see the fight but i did see the crowd around blue pipe hole...what a waste, i was fishing the fast water above that and multiple times had people just walk in and stand right where i was drifting. One of the worst trips ive had down there.

stlfisher
Bummer to hear the fish are so small...but not surprised. I am heading down October 15 and 16 with the girlfiend. Oh well I guess we will do some hiking like she wants to anyway, maybe explore the Niangua bit...score some points the less I fish. I will bring some trebles, a chase lounge, a beer helmet and some gigging materials for the fist annual Pete's Blue Pipe Swarey. Competitions inlcude lawn chair sitting, kid yelling, and fish snagging. Lawn chair toss starts at 5. Bonus points if someone is still in it. Get excited. Jack Jones
Just a question as a Bennett noob....is there a map that shows where all these colloquially named areas are? Maybe one similar to Phil's maps for Taneycomo or Roaring River? I went through the threads and found one way back on page 8, but it was never really published as a separate link. It also didn't seem to include all the names. I read the thread that was posted in January, where they are described, but a map would certainly help visualize it. It would be helpful to someone new to BSSP both for fishing and to appreciate the conversations on the board here.
