jdmidwest Posted October 11, 2011 Author Posted October 11, 2011 But most creeks around here this time of year still have an abundance of bluegill, greenies, and longears to peck at the lure all day. That was missing also. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
gotmuddy Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 the pickerel that I caught were all holding very close to cover, more like in the cover. everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
Justin Spencer Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 I've paddled upstream to hit a riffle above my put in and seen hundreds of smallmouth on my way up. Coming back downstream through that same section the fish just disappear. I guess facing upstream they see you coming and find places to hide. Doesn't take much cover for a fish to disappear. ColdWaterFshr Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 Brian - do you have a green drift boat with a rumblefish sticker? Whats up with the tunes blaring? Was that at your clients request?
Brian Sloss Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 I have a green, wooden drift boat, no rumble fish and no tunes. Didn't see the boat you are referring to either. www.elevenpointflyfishing.com www.elevenpointcottages.com (417)270-2497
ColdWaterFshr Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 Sorry, wrong guy. SOMEONE had a big green driftboat and a ghetto blaster, not at full volume, but loud enough that you could hear it clearly from a couple hundred feet away. They were fishing along and the Beatles Hard Days Night was playing and it struck us as a little bit odd, rocking out while fly-fishing on the 11 pt. This was probably around 2 or 3 on saturday afternoon. Get an ipod, Rumblefish! Also saw a couple jetboats go by. One guy was going downstream, standing up in his jetboat and not going fast enough to be fully up on plane, and he beached it pretty hard on some gravel, almost face-planting himself in his boat.
jdmidwest Posted October 11, 2011 Author Posted October 11, 2011 We were behind the Rumble Fisher all day too. I think Ryan was with a Father and Son in the other Drift Boat out of 11pt Canoe. Tito was in the red fiberglass river jet with 2 customers. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
Brian Sloss Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 Tito wasn't there. www.elevenpointflyfishing.com www.elevenpointcottages.com (417)270-2497

jdmidwest Posted October 11, 2011 Author Posted October 11, 2011 One of the guys at the Turner ramp addressed the driver of the red boat as Tito. I only met him once at a gunshow and would probably not recognize him in the wild. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
