abkeenan Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 Getting 3 pre rapala wiggle warts repainted and was wondering if you guys could help me pick a color that would be good for Table Rock. I already have a few pre rapala warts in the green craw (v38), brown craw (v37) and nat. red craw (v209) so I kinda want to get something a little different from those colors. All 3 warts would get the same paint job. Vote for the # you guy think is best. Thanks! #1 #2 #3 #4 #5
Ham Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 I've bought some really pretty ones, but throwing it at the right time in the correct places is WAY more important than the paint jobs. just sayin.. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Sore Thumbs Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 It's funny you brought this up because I am sending some to Fallcreek lures this week. There are two colors recommended to me and they are Greg Bohannan Green and New Hot Tamale. I also had one custom painted last year that was Red craw with a green back. I did really well with that one.
Guest Buck Creek Mike Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 I don't fish TR much, but I like #1 and #5, and may lean a little to #5 b/c of the orange in it. THey both look like good crawdad imitators to me.

vacation Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 Here are some pre-rapala wiggle warts that I had painted by a forum member "TrophyfishR" I sent him tons of pics from crawdads I was catching this summer on table rock and he did a FANTASTIC job painting these. Seriously, his work was beyond superior and he was very thourough and honest. If you ever considered having a bait painted contact him and you will NOT be dissapointed, I only hope I dont loose one.

I appreciate the kind words. I had a lot of fun painting those vintage wiggle warts. Lure painting is a passion and not a profession for myself. Therefore, I like to paint baits that I feel will catch fish. I paint whatever the client wants in a color scheme. That's what "custom" means to me. Not just a fancy paint job that looks cool. I get a lot of input from the client before I even start on the baits. The lure colors from Baitwerks are fantastic!!!! Dwain helped me get started a few years ago, before he went bigtime. I have a great deal of respect for his work... My vote is #1.. Olive green is a great color pattern for any Ozark Lake.
abkeenan Posted October 18, 2011 Author Posted October 18, 2011 I like #4 -- it kind of has those awesome "Jayhawk" colors! I guess #4 will be the winning color since the fish in TR are obviously Missouri Tiger fans and will visciously attack anything with red and blue color combinations.

Members Hillbilly Deluxe Posted October 18, 2011 Members Posted October 18, 2011 FYI, I think #1 would be my choice for The Rock. Looks really good for the chunk rock stuff I fish. Brian www.outdoorguysradio.com
