Al Agnew Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Great stories. Not going in to details, but the first time I went fly fishing I saw my first vagina as I was fishing along the shoreline. Needless to say I was hooked! One of these days we'll have a get together on the North Fork and I'll share details. At least you noticed it...My wife and I were floating Huzzah Creek with my nieces and nephew, the closest thing to a son and daughters that I'll ever have. We had stopped on a gravel bar to swim, but my nephew and I were fishing instead. We paid no attention to a canoe that paddled by behind us. After it was out of sight, my wife and nieces were laughing like crazy, because the canoe had held a very pretty topless woman and we didn't even look up!

What is it about Huzzah Creek and naked people? When I was over there a couple weekends ago, there was a canoe with two people. They said hello as they went by and I looked up, and I looked up and saw the fellow in the front of the canoe didn't have on a stitch of clothing. Unfortunately, unlike in your situation, it was an extremely overweight man, so it was rather a traumatizing experience. I wish I hadn't looked up! And a little odd, even more so than usual considering they were within about 200 yards of an access where there were quite a few people. It never ceases to amaze me, some of the folks I encounter on our Ozark streams. Anywhere else half of the people that float our rivers would be arrested for indecent exposure.
chambug Posted October 20, 2011 Author Posted October 20, 2011 OK guys, I appreciate a little humor, and the exhibitionists and streakers are funny, but they are also often sick and ill-motivated, but i hope this topic does not become mundane and trite because of such tales. Please stay on the primary subject.
Justin Spencer Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 I was actually fishing in a lake that time, which made it quite unusual. Some of my fondest memories are of times with my father (who only fished a little because I liked it). Remember catching a 30" muskie while trolling a spoon and after I convinced him it was a fish and not the bottom, we got it in, and then were both scared to mess with that toothy critter. Paddled and fished with him in the boundary waters, and did a fly in once where we caught smallmouth and walleye by the dozens. He enjoyed the fishing because of our surroundings (and the company I'm sure) more than the act of catching fish. That's the great thing about fishing streams and rivers, even when the fish aren't biting, the experience of being in a great place makes for a successful trip everytime "The problem with a politician’s quote on Facebook is you don’t know whether or not they really said it." –Abraham Lincoln Tales of an Ozark Campground Proprietor Dead Drift Fly Shop
