Members Bimmer Posted November 9, 2011 Members Posted November 9, 2011 Go figure. Back in June I bought 8 War Eagles in Mouse, Purple Shad, Blue Shad and Firecracker with extra skirts as well and have yet to hit the water with them and I just realized I did not buy 3/8oz., I bought 1/2oz. Hoping to hit the lake this weekend. Should I even try them that heavy, or send them back and exchange them? Maybe the TR gods will smile kindly on me. ~David God is my Pilot! Champ188 Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 Bimmer, the half-ounce models will work fine. I generally switch to a half when the water temp drops into the 50s because I'm running the bait a little deeper and slower. You can even fish the half-ounce baits up shallow in the spring or fall, you'll just have to work a little harder to keep them up off the bottom.

Members Bimmer Posted November 12, 2011 Members Posted November 12, 2011 Welp, I don't know how long the weather is going to hold out for us. As I've mentioned in earlier posts I'm an older fart in my mid-50's but I'm in my 3rd year at Missouri State and homework keeps me pretty teathered to this puter of mine. I've been reading some very encouraging posts especially using the War Eagles and I've convinced the wife (she loves to fish too) that tomomorrow may be the last time we get to take the boat out for the year. All of our bass, well what few we've managed to finesse have come from Fellows since we're considerable closer. So far Table Rock has skunked us. This is the first year with our own boat and our first year at Table Rock and with half a dozen trips out we've been down for the count but not out because skunked or not, we always have a great time being on this beautiful lake, taking exception of course when the skiers and tubers (rudest I've seen anywhere) come out. That all said, I've checked the weather and am expecting a breeze up to 22mph with temps around 40 so that should be in our favor, although I wished the wind were a little shallower because at 22mph we might get knocked around a bit making fishing testy at best. Being from Springfield, we usually put in at KC but if someone wants to chime in a preferable area I'm all ears. Wish us luck and pray it's a tolerable day. Good luck friends!! * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Would like to shout out with 21 stars and a BIG THANK YOU to all who served before me, with me, and after me, particularly those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for my freedoms. I'd do it all again in the heartbeat. I'm just darn glad I didn't have to serve it under THIS administration! God is my Pilot! I'm just riding "shotgun".
tapout Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 I got out Friday with my wife from 10am till 2pm. Fished point 11 to campers point. Caught 6 or 7 mostly K's with one LM on a blade. No keepers. It was windy and my boat skills are fair at best so kept it relatively brief. We managed 7 whites. I believe if I could of held the boat in one spot we could of limited on whites, but then again cleaning 7 at a time is fine by me. I'd like to thank my FUTURE sponsers: Falcon Rods, Jewel Bait Co, and Seagar

Were you married to Kim Kardashian?
Members Bimmer Posted November 14, 2011 Members Posted November 14, 2011 We never got out on the water on Saturday morning. The wind was just ridiculous. God is my Pilot! I'm just riding "shotgun".
