Members islandspeed Posted November 20, 2011 Members Posted November 20, 2011 Planning a trip this spring and would like to know when the white bass run usually occurs?
Dutch Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 It varies from year to year and lake to lake. Sometimes as early as February you can find them on a good migration pattern if they are in moving water. Sometimes the best part is early April. It would help to know where you plan to fish since your listed location is more than a few rock throws from where most of us live.
fishinwrench Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Yeah, can we just skip the whole Winter thing and get right to that? That would be great!
Members islandspeed Posted November 20, 2011 Author Members Posted November 20, 2011 Will be spending two weeks this spring in the Branson/Forsyth area. Will be visiting my brother who lives in the area. While the primary fishing will be for trout, don't want to miss out on the white bass run if possible.

If you are going to be in the Forsyth area best places are Shadow Rock Park right there in the town on Swan Creek, just below Powersite Dam a.k.a. The Pothole, or about 1-2 miles south of Forsyth at COE campgrounds at Kissee Mills on Beaver Creek "Some people fish all their life never knowing it is not the fish they are after"--Henry David Thoreau
duckydoty Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 We usually start hitting good numbers of whites in tat area the 2nd week of March. My favorite week to fish is the 1st week of April as long as the rivers are not blown out by then. A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Wayne SW/MO Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Swan creek and Beaver creek can be iffy at best, but there is good access at the pot hole on both sides if the lake isn't high. The COE park at Kissee Mills is always accessible, but the opportunity isn't always first class. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
