Daryk Campbell Sr Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 I am under the impression that if you were to fish for trout, you need a tag. Wether you keep or release, you are required to have a tag. If you are not fishing for them directly and happen upon one, and do not posses a tag, you must release immediately. If fishing in a park which a daily trout permit is purchased, a tag is not required as long as fishing in the area dictated by the daily permit. Just the way that I understand and have interpreted from various resources. I would hate to see someone fined for not having a tag. Money is just ink and paper, worthless until it switches hands, and worthless again until the next transaction. (me) I am the master of my unspoken words, and the slave to those that should have remained unsaid. (unknown)
Bill Anderson Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 At 65, I no longer have to buy a fishing or hunting license. But the requirement for a trout permit varies, depending on where you fish. Some parts of Taneycomo require one whether or not you keep or release fish. So my attitude is that I will always buy a trout permit, regardless of where I might be fishing in the state That will keep me on the sunny side of the law. It's cheap insurance, in my opinion and it is a way to give a little back for all the state does to preserve trout fishing in Missouri. I have a friend, a Jewish carpenter, whom you should get to know. If you do, your life will never be the same.
