Brian K. Shaffer Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 I say Leeches. It is the natural 'be all / end all' to many trillions of fish. Just once I wish a trout would wink at me! ozarkflyfisher@gmail.com I'm the guy wearing the same Simms longbilled hat for 10 years now.
Members Paul Posted January 18, 2012 Members Posted January 18, 2012 I say Black & Yellow Marabou Jigs. I have fished all over Missouri & the Western US and have caught every kind of trout on Black & Yellow Marabou Jigs in 1/8 oz. or 1/16 oz. Best jigs I have found are from www.flatheadjig.com. Best of all they are made here in Missouri.
Addicted to Creeks Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 personal favorites are white single hook rooster tails 1/8 oz to 1 /24 oz, Marabou jigs either dead drifted under a strike indicator or actively retrieved, and I'm a big fan of drifting glo bugs and other wet flies under indicators with enough split shot to toss it. Fish always lose by being "got in and dressed." It is best to weigh them while they are in the water. The only really large one I ever caught got away with my leader when I first struck him. He weighed ten pounds. —Charles Dudley Warner
