cullinby9 Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 This isn't hard to understand dd22=one lure a-rig=3-5 lures each swimbait you fish is a lure. You can't cut a crankbait in half and still fish it.
roy_eros Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 I couldn't afford to keep slinging $20 baits into brush piles, so I just got the stuff to make my own.
Feathers and Fins Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 I'll go back to my saltwater roots here. For as long as I can remember Umbrellas and Multy-Hooked rigs have been part of it and NOONE I have ever talked to from the weekend fisherman to the Pro anglers call them cheating or unsportsman like. The fish still has to BITE the lure, It still has to be presented to where the fish is. It still requires the angler to battler the fish. If anything multiple hook ups on the same rig could cause LOST fish. I will also now discuss Super Sized baits. I have thrown AC Plugs, Z Plugs, Castaic Trout and other GIANT baits we are talking 4ounces and larger and some over 16 inches for Striper and largemouth and by far have caught more double hook-ups on them and I have trolling umbrella rigs. Price is certainly High on these baits and yes your arms will want to fall off at the end of the day but they are devistaing on Bass and the reason is simple. Bass A has a meal caught and Bass B wants a free meal. I have seen it and talked to others who have seen it and had it happen. Its much like the "FAIR CHASE" Arguement in hunting. Ask a group of people what they call it and you will get multiple answers! The answer should be simple. If it is Legal in the state than so be it! If a tournament wants to Ban or disqualify certain practices or tools that is up to them. But do not label a lure as un-sporting or un-fair and give politicians a chance to slip their two cents in. Truth be told LIVE BAIT is the most un-sporting lure there is but 100% Legal. Do you want to open the door! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
exiledguide Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 I'm just sitting here thinking that everyone who is upset about the a rig ban should just refuse to fish in the next BASS tournament. That will show them!... Wait a minute, you are not allowed to fish in their tournaments. Never mind.
Guest csfishinfool Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 The door has been open for some time now. A-rig= five baits at once....this isnt the ocean, were not fishing for red snapper down by the peer.

They use chum and 11 foot rods with wire leaders in the ocean too. It's not about catching doubles its about increasing the strike zone. If its legal in your state then do as you please.Trolling is legal in MO but not legal in a tournament I'm strictly talking tournament fishing. One thing we can all agree on is its all about the bite if it gets you more bites and its legal knock yourself out.
Iclass Posted January 20, 2012 Author Posted January 20, 2012 I'm just sitting here thinking that everyone who is upset about the a rig ban should just refuse to fish in the next BASS tournament. That will show them!... Wait a minute, you are not allowed to fish in their tournaments. Never mind. Why am I not allowed? Its my understanding that some one with the money, time, skill, desire....can fish the Elites. I have a couple friends that only lack the desire, they have plenty of the rest.
97procraft Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 The Elites are not like the opens. I believe you have to be invited to fish the Elites, thus making them "Elite". Anyone with money can fish the other circuits, it doesn't matter what your skill or desire is. Just pay the fee and you are in.

Anyone with money can fish the other circuits, it doesn't matter what your skill or desire is. Just pay the fee and you are in. To qualify for the Elites an angler must finish in the top six of a division of the opens. The only way to qualify from the weekend series or the federation is to win the classic. I'm suprised that there are anglers that have the money, time and skill but lack desire. Skill and desire are the departments that most talented anglers are born with, money and time are hard to combine. Even of the local sticks most sell real estate, insurance or have a business they can conduct from the front deck via smartphone.
fishinSWMO Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 quit calling the a-rig a lure it is 3-5 lures swimbaits grubs whatever. That's why I see it being banned from tournament fishing, it's a RIG made to fish multiple baits. Jeremy Dodson
