Greasy B Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 I've been smashing down barbs on my dog walkers for along time now. I do lose a few on the jump But haven't had to do stream side surgery with my pocket knife since. His father touches the Claw in spite of Kevin's warnings and breaks two legs just as a thunderstorm tears the house apart. Kevin runs away with the Claw. He becomes captain of the Greasy Bastard, a small ship carrying rubber goods between England and Burma. Michael Palin, Terry Jones, 1974
Arofishing Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 i smash em down before i tie or before they go into my box, when i fish anything with a treble hook like a crankbait or such i always smash down because i HATE taking trebles out, i cant seem to do it without sticking one of the other hooks in another part of the or my hand, i may have started fly fishing because of my irrational hatred of treble hooks now that i think about it I don't know if there is anything irrational about it. If you care about the fish and care about causing them any unnecessary and additional discomfort then that sounds like a darn good reason to get away from treble hooks. I am the same way.
