Gatorjet Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 All manner of plain clothes law enforcement carry daily without the display of a badge in plain sight, nobody calls the law on them. I really don't think open carry makes you a target or draws any questions. Maybe where you live. If you noticed I said metropolitan areas. Meaning areas with a larger population of people who would be disturbed by the sight of open carry. Yes, in very hot weather I do carry a pocket 380, but most of the time, with the ability to cover with an untucked shirt my carry piece may not be full sized, but for sure it is in a full sized caliber. Springfield Armory XD40 Subcompact. As far as concealed carry goes, personally, I just don't see the point. Because when seconds count the police are only minutes away! because they want to be badass. Wrong approach. I agree entirely. That is the wrong reason completely I've heard that the classes are simplistic as well. And you have heard wrong! Firearms safety, legalities, self defense scenarios, and proper shooting are all part of the class. There may have been some who don't do as good a job as should be, but they get weeded out pretty quickly. Real men go propless!
exiledguide Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 When I was young almost every one of us fathers had either shotguns for hunting or WW11 souvenier weapons and anytime we went to someones house with no adult around (not very many in those days) we would get the guns out point them at each other and pull the trigger it was fun because those guns couln't possibly be loaded. You guessed it one day I wasn't there because I had been grounded for doing something stupid so I didn't die and I didn't pull the trigger but I never saw two of my friends again. We didn't have grief consulers back then so I got over it. I can't imagine the two sets of parents feelings they all moved out of nieghborhood and nobody ever talked about and I never asked my parents. So do your kids a favor lockthose weapons.
Gatorjet Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 So do your kids a favor lockthose weapons. Absolutely!!! Like so many things in parenting, it's responsibility!!! Most often now when you see on the news a story about a child being shot by another it's obvious that the adults in the house were totally irresponsible. Not only with the gun, but in every aspect of life. Real men go propless!
oneshot Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Well having a Firearm for Protection is worthless if its Locked Up and Unloaded just my.02 but there shouldn't be any kids around mine unless they are setting on my Lap or Sleeping with me. oneshot
