Trout Commander Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 shot of some whiskey on a gravel bar, just sayin....lol Can you also please direct me to the law outlawing whiskey on rivers? If you can, I've broken the law a lot. Even with my cheap whiskey in plastic bottles I suppose. I have spent most of my money on fly fishing and beer. The rest I just wasted. jdmidwest Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Here are the Ozarks Scenic Riverways rules and National Park Service laws, it outlaws Jello Shots but not whiskey. Other streams are not covered outside of the National Park Service. http://www.nps.gov/ozar/parkmgmt/lawsandpolicies.htm http://www.nps.gov/ozar/parkmgmt/alcohol-policy.htm http://www.nps.gov/ozar/parknews/controlling-rowdiness-on-the-rivers.htm "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. gotmuddy Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 I think Arkansas container laws are watercraft specific. nope, no glass on any river under any circumstance, at least the buffalo. Unfortunetly, until I have a cannery, I will still take mason jars of canned trout with me(wrapped in cloth) I believe the same law also banned kegs on the rivers and beer funnels. everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.

Flysmallie Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Pudding shots are what the patiers are bringing now. Well that sounds gross. That's all we need a bunch of kids out on a hot afternoon getting drunk on pudding. Somebody is going to throw up. Â Â
Mark Posted February 16, 2012 Author Posted February 16, 2012 I sent an email to the US Forest Service at Doniphan and received a timely reply. All glass containers are banned on the Wild and Scenic Riverways. The only exception on the Eleven Point is the Greer Campground picnic area and The Riverton picnic area. For those of you that have a taste for the craft beers, I second the selections at Crown Brewery, Coffman MO, (near Farmington). I have never been "one of those guys" when it comes to beers, but I am hooked. My favorites include Antique Amber Lager, Big Bison, Plow Boy Porter, and Wooden Nickel IPA. I jumped off the Bud Light bandwagon after the sale of the Cardinals from the Busch family and the sale of the brewery to InBev. I no longer have an allegience to the Busch Brewery. And the craft beers just taste better - though more calories!!
steve l Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Caldera makes some fine canned beers, pricey, but very good. Ditto - the Caldera IPA is pretty darn good
