laker67 Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Ha lol. Hi TC, I am surprised you have not encountered Al down at taney. With his english accent and his hillbilly look, you will know him immediately. Hi Al, hope you are watching this thread. He ties the best pellet {purina} fly around.

timsfly Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Fished crane this afternoon, caught 4 trout and a very healthy creek chubb. In 30 minutes I landed all these fish and missed a few, caught two on a egg, 1 on a Adams parachute, and 1 on a pheasant tail, all were a size #14 I can't post pics with my iPad, but I put several on my Facebook page today. Addicted to Creeks Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 is there a picture of the chub? thats a serious question Fish always lose by being "got in and dressed." It is best to weigh them while they are in the water. The only really large one I ever caught got away with my leader when I first struck him. He weighed ten pounds. —Charles Dudley Warner
timsfly Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Yes on my face book page a nice 6"er Tim Homesley 23387 st. hwy 112 Cassville, Mo 65625 Roaring River State park Tim's Fly Shop www.missouritrout.com/timsflyshop
duckydoty Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Did you fish this morning or afternoon. Pretty good hatch going this morning on the Lower Wire Rd Access. Sulpher and blue dunns coming off about 14's and 16's. Picked up a few waiting for them to shut the water off at Taney. A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! KCRIVERRAT Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 You can't guide or camp on MDC land, I know that for sure, I've taken conservation employees with me to crane creek on fishing trips, and I made certain it was as friends only, they knew I knew the rules because later I had a conversation with one of the guys about just that. I had a good friend once get a ticket for camping on MDC land it wasn't marked but he got a ticket anyway, cost him 99$ Tim... maybe you're just referring to setting up camp anywhere a person pleases on MDC land. They do however provide plenty of designated areas for primitive camping as I'm sure you're aware. HUMAN RELATIONS MANAGER @ OZARK FISHING EXPEDITIONS
timsfly Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 You can't camp on MDC land, except in designated areas, I just figured people would figure that out for themselves, if a sign says you can camp then it would be ok, to camp. I guided on crane yesterday for a bit, it was fun, of course it was a self guided trip I didn't get caught, so it was fun. XP 590 Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Not sure that I understand "the problem". As long as a guide isn't walking up to random anglers at Crane soliciting himself then it shouldn't be anyone elses business whether someone pays for a lesson or two onstream, or which stretch of whichever stream he is willing to pay for a lesson on. Call it a "gift" instead of a "fee" to satisfy the Nazi's.....and do whatever you want. Don't know you personally Wrench, and I really wondered if I should reply. At the risk of starting an argument, I'm going to anyway because I feel strongly about the statements you made. The "problem" you refer to is called the Missouri Depertment of Conservation Regulations. While I may not understand or agree with all of them, I understand their purpose is to provide an enjoyable, sustainable resource for OUR recreation....yours AND mine. If the regulation states no commercial guiding on MDC property, then I view that in the same light as all other hunting and fishing regulations including tackle and bait restrictions, creel limits, bag limits, etc. When I'm hunting or fishing on MDC land, whether I like it or not, it IS someone else's business, for lots of obvious reasons: my actions affect others. In my experience, anyone willing to disregard one regulation is likely to disregard all regulations, and that has an impact on me. The minute everyone starts to "do whatever you want"..........well, that should be easy enough to figure out.
