duckydoty Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Started the day fishing Crane Creek. Caught a few on drys. After DDsMC made an awesome salad, we headed to Taney for some sight fishing. The Rainbows were really colorful today. Caught most on the old faithful white chamois worm. Caught quite a surprise on it with 7x tipet...a 3ft. Needlenose gar. Decided to throw my new fish skull fly, green and white, great response by the bows! After dinner,I'll be headin back down to Taney for some birthday strippin! DaddyO Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Happy birthday, duane. Hope you have a good strippin' night. On another note, have you ever eaten Gar? My brother swears by it and says that it tastes better than crappie. DaddyO We all make decisions; but, in the end, our decisions make us.
duckydoty Posted February 23, 2012 Author Posted February 23, 2012 Yes I have eaten gar. Very firm white meat that is mild in flavor. Its really hard to get out of the wrapper though A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners
