I've heard of getting some of your facts wrong, but uh... This morning I was watching the news and the headline report was "Waders are banned in trout parks", and of course Rob got the details wrong..

I'm looking forward to his update on that, he'll be at Roaring River tomorrow morning, where all the fishermen will be wearing their waders.

Won't be anyone wading at RR

People who don't fish hear that felt soled waders are banned..... they aren't even aware that felt soled boots even exist, but they ARE somewhat aware that there is such a thing as "waders", so all that registers in their non-fishing X-box brain is....

Waders are banned.

"Waders are banned in trout parks",.

Would that pertain to what you wear, or the people standing in the water?

The headline is ambiguous, but the reporters clarified with their imagery (pictures of guys in waders)... The whole report was hilariously confusing for someone who's familiar with the actual law.. (or for one who's familiar with the sport of fishing at all)

As wrench pointed out, all people will get is the basics unless it has to do with cell phone technology or their x-box.

Drives me crazy when I see a Hollywood movie that has fishing or hunting inaccuracies, little things like the actors calling a fish a bass when it is obviously a trout or vice versa. Fishing is something that so many people do and know something about why don't they get a decent consultant for these minimal scenes. They spend big bucks to medical consultants to make sure things are done and said correctly why not outdoor stuff? Shouldn't be that difficult? Most media outlets don't even know enough to know that they don't know.

Reminds me of the story on my local news in Wichita about a poor guy that got mugged and beaten by two thugs armed with a brick and a scrap piece of lumber - behind the anchor they showed the image of a revolver and loose ammo around it as their general "crime" picture - I guess the didn't have an image of a brick and 2x4 to put up there. Close enough for "journalism".

I used to get calendars from TU and one of the pics would always have some obvious rookie glitch....like line wrapped around the rod between two guides, or a guy fishing in a seemingly remote location, far from any road....with his boot laces untied and dragging the ground, that sorta thing. LOL

I love how on fishing shows they have the clicker on bait casters for the sound effect for the show, seems every tom dick and harry starting out thinks you have to leave it on to fight a fish because they see it on TV. Now the one i love is guys lipping everything. I always enjoyed watching people try lipping sea trout and blue fish or walleye :)
